Cat was the 2023 National Champion Open Donkey Trail winner with her previous owner, Lindsey Williamson aboard. She was also the 2023 Reserve National Champion Youth Trail Donkey expertly ridden by Carrie Brigham.

We just purchased Cat in September of 2023 for our personal mammoth riding donkey. We took her to her first show a week later at the American Mule & Music Festival World Championship Mule & Donkey Show where my friend, Savannah Ames, showed her. They won four blues and five seconds after just practicing four times under the expert guidance of Nancy Whitley and Maria Lloyd. I am so very grateful to my many friends that help me enjoy my donkeys. A special thank you to Carrie Brigham and Jay Jaxtheimer for their pointers and advice during the show. We appreciate you.

Cat is the sweetest donkey ever and loves being with people. She will canter all day long if you ask her too.  She excels in trail classes and she is just what I have been looking for all these years. One day I may breed her but for now I am just going to enjoy riding, showing and loving her. Cat is also trained to drive but my harness needs repairing.

Sadly I must offer Cat for sale due to a severe multilevel degenerative disc problem in my lower back. She is too nice of a donkey to be left out in the pasture. She is perfect for a youth, novice or experienced riders. She is up to date on all vaccinations including Eastern/Western Enchepalitis, Tetanus, Influenza, Rhino, West Nile and Rabies. She has had her hooves trimmed regularly and she has been de-wormed regulary rotating de-wormers. Cat gets along with all sizes of donkeys and horses in or out of the pasture. She is easy to catch and she loads easily as long as you load her with a chain over her nose. If not, she may just decide to do a U-turn and walk away. Her price includes her western saddle, bridle w/bit, show pads, wooden pleasure driving cart and driving harness that needs a couple of parts, her personal banner, her fly mask and winter blanket. Also her hunt seat saddle and bridle will be included as well. Photos sent of saddles, bridles, etc upon request. I will allow payments until the fall at no extra charge as long as you make payments regularly. Her price will be reduced if you don't need her saddles, bridles, cart, etc.

Macy Lee was the 2009 Grand Champion Jennet at the NMDA Tennessee State Fair Show. If all goes well we might do team driving with Jitterbug and Macy one day. Thank you Katrina for allowing this fine jennet to live at Half Ass Acres. We already love her. Macy has been retired from breeding. We are searching for a pet home for her.

Update! Macy was sold to a fantastic home and they showed Macy at the Bedford County Fair and bet us all winning 1st place in Jennets at Halter. Congratulations!!

It will be awhile before we post updated recent photos of this jennet as she came to us quite overweight.  Thank you Rebecca Woods for allowing this fine jennet to live at Half Ass Acres. We already love her.

Ginger was bred to Dennis Vonderfecht's dark red champion jack, Country Music's Rusty Weir, at Appalachian Farmstead in Knoxville for a foal that was born on April 3rd, 2024.

Ginger is the dam of three foals:

Alanis, Bow's dam, stood Grand National Spotted Jennet the only year we showed her and later she produced a baby even better than she is....a sign of a great brood jennet! Bow was born on her mom's birthday...no wonder she is the spittin' image of her...but even better. She was expertly delivered by Julia and Rhonda Vaughn while they were house-sitting for us when we were away attending Wayne Lyon's Driving Seminar in Texas. A big 'Thank-You' to both Julia and Rhonda for delivering the best spotted jennet ever born on this farm! Also a thanks to Julia for naming her godchild!

We just recently purchased Bow back from her owner who was reducing her herd. She was promised back to us if she was ever sold and we are so happy to have her back. We will let her settle into her old home and we may try for one more foal before we retire her.

Update: On 2/13/23, our vet checked Bow and found her to be open. So we are giving up and retiring her to be best friends with Junebug who recentely lost her best friend Picabo to old age.

Update February 14th, 2024: We had no intentions of selling Bow but she lost her best friend, Junebug,  December 31st, 2023. We received a call from a wonderful home in Franklin, Tennessee about 40 miles away.  Their 23 year old jennet had just lost her best friend and was depressed and not eating.  We delivered Bow to her new home right away and both jennets will stay together as best friends from now on.  It was so nice to see both jennets happy again.
